Celebrating Excellence: BESC Earns Historic "Commendable" State Rating!
We are thrilled to announce a truly monumental achievement for the Buckingham Exceptional Student Center! For the first time, our school has earned a Commendable rating from the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE).
For specialized centers like ours, this isn't just another letter grade—it is the highest performance rating achievable. It replaces the standard A–F scale and represents the absolute peak of success for alternative and Exceptional Student Education (ESE) schools.
A Commendable rating is not easily earned. It signifies that our school has demonstrated:
- Top-Tier Performance: Reaching the highest level of success recognized by the state.
- Strong Student Learning Gains: Proving that our students are growing academically on critical state-required or approved exams.
- High Testing Participation: Demonstrating our dedication to assessment by testing at least 80% of our eligible students.
This recognition is a direct result of the incredible dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment of our amazing students, teachers, and staff. It also highlights the invaluable support we receive from our parents and the entire community. We are incredibly proud of this collective historic moment.
